I love steampunk. Steampunk is great. For me, as a science fiction geek who’s also into Victoriana, it’s hard to imagine a more perfect combination.
I’m also a train geek, and into strange old machinery in all its forms. And something you realise from the study of these outdated contraptions is that when it comes to steam-powered machinery, reality is often stranger than (science) fiction.
This isn’t an engineering blog, so I’m going to keep the technical details fairly simple – it’s primarily intended for inspiration and aesthetic information. Where possible, I’ll include the sources at the bottom of each entry.
This blog, in short, is intended as a resource for steampunks, dieselpunks and other retro-futurists, where I intend to gather some of the more unusual examples of old machines and related oddities from the past. Whether you’re an artist, a writer or just a geek like me, I hope you’ll find something to your liking.
